April 2, 2003, Centralia, Washington - Kinetic Datacom, the region's leading business technology and network integration services firm recently completed a comprehensive WAN and LAN network design and integration project for Hall's Drug of Centralia, WA.

"In our effort to better serve our customers through streamlining the way we communicate internally and use patient information safely and securely this was a project that just couldn't wait any longer" said Warren Hall, owner and President of the area's largest pharmacy and medical equipment supply business. "Any time you have an opportunity to invest in your customers and your internal staff and improve the way they work, it is a sound investment," Hall explained.

Dereck Senter, whose firm performed the complex network conversion in one evening explained, "Converting from multiple network platforms to a single platform greatly simplified and stabilized Hall's network. This will prepare the firm for future technologies and better use their existing technologies". He continued, "We wanted to ensure that there was a nominal impact on Hall's operations through this process and that the conversion was virtually transparent to the customers and the staff".

The project entailed upgrading or replacing most of the of the thirty desktop computer systems, configuring two servers, converting to Microsoft's server software, converting to an upgraded accounting system, and integrating the pharmacy and medical supply software applications on the network.

In an effort to complete Warren Hall's vision for his firm, he has retained Kinetic Datacom for several additional technology initiatives to bring added operational advantages and to better serve the customers of his growing business. These initiatives include a significant web site presence, staff training on the company's new internal e-mail/productivity software, and addressing HIPAA compliance issues.

"We want to ensure that our customer's information is safe and secure and that Hall's is taking the appropriate measures to ensure that our business meets and exceeds the HIPAA standards" explained Mr. Hall. He went on to explain that HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a federal government initiative in which health-care providers and insurance companies must assure that any information shared electronically will not get into the wrong hands.

"We fully trusted Kinetic Datacom to design and deploy the technology necessary to ensure that we are HIPAA compliant and making a good investment in our future" Hall said.

In addition, Hall's has retained Kinetic Datacom and Dereck Senter as their "outsourced" Chief Technical Officer. "We are bombarded with technology decisions and choices every day. I needed someone with the knowledge and experience that would assist me in managing that increasingly critical part of my business" said Hall.

Through Kinetic Datacom, businesses have a choice to source through one firm for provisioning of LAN and WAN networking, internetworking, web development, network architecture and design, training, and on-site IT management. "Kinetic Datacom's managed services allow any business access to a comprehensive and professional outsourced technology staff without the expense of an internal staff. Hall's was a perfect fit for this concept." Morris Pettit, the firm's VP of Business Development commented.
